AC is not responding
If the area is set to auto-apply, the temperature falls outside the comfort range, but the AC isn’t moving — or manual run does nothing — work through the steps below in order.
1. Is the subscription active?
Section titled “1. Is the subscription active?”When the subscription is not active, unawair only records what it would have done — no commands are actually sent (the chart still shows the decision lines).
- Open Subscription from the menu and confirm the status is “active” or “trialing”.
- If it’s “unpaid”, “canceled”, or you’ve never subscribed, automatic control won’t run. See Subscription overview.
2. Is “Auto apply” on for the area?
Section titled “2. Is “Auto apply” on for the area?”If the per-area Auto-apply toggle is off, unawair doesn’t send any commands for that area (it only records temperatures).
- Open the area’s Edit dialog from the dashboard.
- Verify that the Auto apply toggle at the top of the modal is ON.
- If it was off, switch it on and save. The next tick starts sending commands.
3. Try Manual run
Section titled “3. Try Manual run”To separate “automation is broken” from “the AC command path is broken”, send one manual command as a test:
- Pick Manual run from the area card’s menu.
- A single command (cool / heat / off — whichever button you choose) is sent to the AC.
- If nothing happens, the issue is somewhere in the command path itself (continue below).
4. IR blaster placement
Section titled “4. IR blaster placement”SwitchBot Hub Mini / Hub 2 / Hub 3 and Nature Remo blast commands at the AC over infrared, so physical placement matters.
- No obstacles between the hub and the AC (furniture, plants, doors).
- The hub’s IR emitter should face the AC’s IR receiver window.
- Avoid direct sunlight and being right under bright fluorescent lighting — both add noise to IR signals.
- For diagnosis, move the hub 1–2 meters from the AC to rule placement in or out.
5. Does the vendor app’s command get through?
Section titled “5. Does the vendor app’s command get through?”Bypass unawair and operate the AC from the vendor’s official app.
- Open SwitchBot or Nature Remo’s app.
- Send “cool, 25°C” (or similar) and confirm the AC reacts.
- If the AC doesn’t react from the vendor app either, the AC remote is misregistered (see below).
- If the vendor app works but unawair doesn’t, the issue is the integration token or permissions (next step).
6. AC remote registration
Section titled “6. AC remote registration”If the vendor app can’t drive the AC, the SwitchBot / Nature Remo remote registration (learning) is probably off.
- Delete the AC in the vendor app and re-register it.
- Make sure it’s registered as “Air Conditioner” (not as “Custom” or “Other” — those don’t always support cool/heat mode switching).
- After registration, send “cool 25°C” from the vendor app, confirm the AC moves, then return to unawair.
7. Re-authenticate the integration
Section titled “7. Re-authenticate the integration”If the vendor app works but unawair doesn’t, the integration token may have been invalidated.
- Open Integrations and look for a warning like “Authentication error” on the relevant integration card.
- If present, regenerate the token on the vendor side and re-add the integration in unawair.
8. Still stuck?
Section titled “8. Still stuck?”If none of the above fixes it, email support@appbatake.com with:
- Vendor (SwitchBot / Nature Remo)
- AC manufacturer and model (model number if possible)
- Whether manual run works (vs only automatic control failing)
- Whether the vendor’s official app can drive the AC
- Any recent changes (re-added an integration, edited the area, etc.)
